Top Engineering Entrance Tests all over India

All across India there are numerous engineering colleges offering variety of streams and field. Each college or University has its own criteria of selecting eligible candidates to pursue graduate level engineering degree from their college. This is why there are various state level and National level common entrance tests for students to score good into. This help the college and university to allot seats on basis of rank/merit/score/interview etc.

The following is the list of popular Engineering entrance tests/exams of the country, held each year usually between March and June.

  • AIEEE Entrance Exam

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) used to be a national level competition exam conducted by CBSE all over India, to test  students for admission at a variety of under-graduate engineering as well as architecture courses and college,  including NIT’s , IIT’s and those who grant admission on the basis of AIEEE rank & scores.
Please be noted: From April 2013, Joint entrance exam (JEE) has replaced AIEEE. AIEE is not conducted anymore.

  • BITSAT Entrance Exam

BITSAT conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, is a computer based online test for admission to all the integrated first degree programmes of BITS at Pilani Campus, Goa Campus, & Hyderabad Campus, conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS). The BITSAT spans four sections i.e. Maths, Physics, Chemistry as well as English & Logical Reasoning. The time allotted for the exam is a stipulated - 3 hours without break. Computer adaptive nature of the test for admission in BITS is one of its kind, for engineering admission.

  • COMEDK  Entrance Exam

A state level entrance exam conducted by ‘Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka’ to give admission to various fields of engineering to the eligible candidates is usually called COMEDK under Graduate Entrance Test .i.e. COMEDK UGET.
The entrance for BE program comprise the aptitude test of Math, Physics and Chemistry. The candidate must have scored 45% in a recognized board with having physics, chemistry and maths subjects in it.

  • EAMCET Entrance Exam

It is an entrance exam conducted annually by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University of Hyderabad on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education to provide admission to the eligible candidates in many engineering colleges and courses of graduate level, falling under the state.

  • IIT-JEE Entrance Exam

Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are one of the premier institutes for technical and engineering studies all over India. The colleges and campus are scattered all across India in many cities. The selection/admission rate is very low in these colleges as compared to Applicants, each year.
The Indian Institutes of Technology - Joint Entrance was an entrance exam for its engineering colleges, being the sole admission test by the fifteen Indian Institutes of Technology and few more colleges.
In 2013, IIT-JEE has been replaced by ‘Joint Entrance Examination’ which is now held in two phases: JEE Main followed by second stage JEE Advanced.

  • ISEET (Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test)

For the admissions into IIT and NIT, ISEET has been proposed and planned to conduct a common engineering entrance examination 2013 onwards replacing IIT-JEE and AIEEE. This test will comprise of two papers: ISEET Main & ISEET Advance both will specify a candidate’s scholastic level as well as aptitude for science subjects and engineering.
